Department of Electronic Engineering (JEL) is one of the academic department in the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (FKEE). The function of the department is to conduct the program of Bachelor Degree of Electronic Engineering with Honours. The department divides its fields into two areas:
(1) Microelectronic and
(2) Medical Electronic.
These two specialization areas cover broad areas in electronic engineering fields which are: VLSI design, failure analysis & IC packaging, microsystem, microfabrication, thin film & semiconductor devices, biomedical modeling & simulation, biomedical technology & application, medical instrumentation, medical electronic system and interfacing. Currently, the department has 41 academic staffs and 10 supporting staffs (assistant engineers) across the major fields in electronic engineering. The department is also actively involves in research in electronic engineering area particularly in thin films & semiconductor devices and biomedical modeling & simulation. There are 15 laboratories to support the teaching, learning and research activities in the department.
