WARAS participated at 23rd International, Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2012) which was held from 17 -19 May 2012 at KLCC, Kuala Lumpur.
WARAS team exhibited three products in the exhibition and was awarded with one Gold and two Silver medal awards.

1) Gold Medal for Dual Frequency Flat Reflector for Mobile Communications

Official visit by delegations from Institut Sains Angkasa (ANGKASA)

On 12th July 2012, WARAS received an official visit from Institute of Space Science (ANGKASA UKM) headed by the Director of Institute of Space Science, Prof. Dr. Hj. Alauddin Mohd. Ali. During the visit, Dr. Muhammad Yusof gave a brief explanation about WARAS to ANGKASA delegates. A brief explanation about current research activities in WARAS was then presented by Dr. Mariyam. All the key equipments and facilities available in WARAS were demonstrated to the delegates. A short meeting was later held at the affiliated research laboratory of WARAS, Radio Communications & Antenna Design Laboratory (RACAD). Further discussions on areas of research collaboration were discussed including the renewal of current MoU between WARAS and ANGKASA.
Visit by a Visiting Professor from National Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy, Egypt
WARAS received a visiting Professor, Prof. Dr. Tharek Arafa from National Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy, Egypt (NRIAG) on 5th July 2012. The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential collaboration between NRIAG and WARAS. The main research area that attracted Dr. Tharek Arafa to WARAS is Radio Science. During the meeting of the visit, a few suggestions have been brought up by research fellows of WARAS particularly on exchanged programs, joint-supervision sessions, as well as grant applications. Dr. Tharek was also briefed regarding research equipments and facilities available in WARAS
