Advanced Mechatronics Research Group

ADMIRE is officially established under the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in July 2013. Previously this group is known as Service Robotics Group (SEROG). As one of the seven research groups in the Faculty, ADMIRE carries out research in areas of Rehabilitation Engineering, Sensing Technology, Modelling and Control, and Intelligent Robotics. The primary mission of this group is to become one of key player in the Mechatronics field.

dirman 

Dirman Hanafi was born in Agam, Indonesia, in 1967. He received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bung Hatta, Padang, Indonesia, in 1994, and the M. Eng. degree in Control and Instrumentation Program sandwich program between Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Indonesia and FH Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1998. And Ph.D. degree in Mechatronic Engineering (specialized in Control and Instrumentation Engineering) from the Department of Control and Robotic Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia in 2006.

In 1998, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Bung Hatta, as a Lecturer. Since May 2008, he has been with the Department of Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering, University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia an Assistant Professor, became an Associate Professor in 2015. July 2019 he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia an Associate Professor.

His current research interests include in the field of system identification and Intelligent Control for applications in vehicle suspension systems, robotics, and electrical power plants.

Mohd Hafiz A. Jalil @ Zainuddin was born in Kluang, Johor, Malaysia, in 1980. He received the B.Eng degree in Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia in 2004 and Masters in Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics) in 2006. He has a lecturer at Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia since 2006. His research interest is related with Process Control, Application of Advanced Control, Instrumentation and System Identification.

Reza Ezuan Samin received his Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (Hons) in 2004 and Masters in Electrical Engineering (Hons) majoring in Mechatronics in 2007 from Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia respectively. Currently, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering UTHM and registered as Professional Technologist (Ts). His publication mainly focused on automation system, control system and artificial intelligence. His research interest includes Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and vibration control in crane system application. He is also a member of Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM), Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Amateur Radio Malaysia.

Rohaida Mat Akir was born in Kedah, Malaysia, in 1984. She received the Diploma and B.Eng degree in Telecommunication from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in 2003 and 2006, M.Eng (Electrical-Electronic and Telecommunication).  And PhD degree in Electrical from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia  in 2018. In 2011, she joined the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn as a tutor and later on become a lecturer in 2018.  Her current research interest includes signal propagation, data processing and artificial neural network.

 Ain

Ain Nazari received Diploma and B. Eng degree in Electrical Engineering in 2005 and 2008 from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), M. Eng (Mechatronics and Automatic Control) and PhD in Electronics and Computer System in 2010 and 2018 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), respectively. In 2008 she joined UTHM and is currently a lecturer in the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Her main research interests are in image processing specialize in medical image and computer vision.

Rosli Omar currently is an Associate Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. He received his PhD in engineering from University of Leicester, United Kingdom in 2012. He is highly motivated academician with more than 15 years of teaching and research experience. His research interests are in robotic engineering, autonomous systems and system identification.

 AbuUbaidah

Abu Ubaidah bin Shamsudin was born in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 1985. He received the B.Eng. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2008, and the Master of Science degree in mechatronics engineering in 2013 from International Islamic University Malaysia. And Ph.D. degree in Information Science (specialized in Disaster Robotics) from the Tadokoro Laboratory, Tohoku University, Japan  in 2017. In 2010, he joined the Department of Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering, Faculty of Electric and Electronic, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, as a Tutor and 2018 as a Lecturer. His current research focuses on the advancement of autonomous robotic technology particularly robust sensors for autonomous firefighter robot which are; (i) K-Nearest Neighbor machine learning for robust 3D measurement of Light and Range Detection(LIDAR) sensor in tough disaster such as smoke, fog and large scale fire and (ii) Bayesian and  Markov probabilistic sensor fusion of; real-time kinematic(RTK) GPS measurement, 2D LIDAR, inertial measurement unit(IMU), and odometer for consistent robot mapping and location. Have involved 3 years collaboration Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Electric and Hirobo for development firefighter robot under Japan National Grant during Ph.D. studies.  Recent work involves development a flying firefighter water hose robot in collaboration with BOMBA and multiple universities.

 MFauzi

Mohamad Fauzi Zakaria received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 1999 and Master of Science in Control and Automation Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2007. Currently, he is a lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering UTHM and registered as Professional Technologist (Ts). His research interests are in embedded system design and application for vision, robotics and automation system.

Mohammad Afif Ayob completed his Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (Hons) in 2010, Master in Electrical Engineering (Hons) in 2012, and PhD degree in 2018 in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). As the youngest member of Admire, he is currently keen in advance additive manufacturing, CNC machines, product design and innovation, and all sorts of robotics in general.

Mohd Razali Md Tomari was born in Johor, Malaysia, in 1980. He received the B.Eng degree in Mechatronics from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in 2003, M.Sc in intelligent system from the Universiti Putra Malaysia, in 2006. And PhD degree in computer vision and robotic from the Saitama University, Japan in 2013. In 2003, he joined Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University Tun Hussein Onn as a tutor and later on become a Senior Lecturer in 2013. His current research interest includes computer vision, pattern recognition, smart wheelchair and sensing technology.

 Noorhamizah

Noorhamizah Binti Mohamed Nasir was born on July 26, 1984, in Kelantan, Malaysia. In 2002, she pursued her study in Diploma in Electrical Engineering with Education at the Kolej University Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn. She then enrolled her degree at the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia and graduated with B.Eng. (Hons) in Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering in 2008. After that, she enrolled her degree of Master of Electrical Engineering in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. And Ph.D degree in Rehabilitation Engineering (specialized for Stroke) from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in 2017. In 2008, she joined the Department of Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering, Faculty of Electric and Electronic, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, as a Tutor and 2018 as a Lecturer. Her current research includes optimisation, artificial intelligence, modelling and controller development specialize for stroke people.
