Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours (BEJ)
As its name suggests, Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours (BEJ) programme covers a broad spectrum of areas in electronic engineering field. This programme is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) which comprises five stakeholders namely Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Industry Employers, Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) dan the Public Service Department (JPA). The programme consists of five main disciplines, i.e., computer, biomedical, mechatronic, communication and microelectronics. Student can select the discipline that he/she is interested in.
The programme is designed with the latest development in electronic engineering field in mind, as well as to prepare students with the capabilities of dealing with complex problem related to electronics engineering. The normal duration to complete the programme is four (4) years, in which students are required to pass 135 credits.
The structure of the programme contains core electronic engineering courses, electives courses and laboratories (experiments and engineering practice) sessions. Aside from that, students are required to involve in Student-Centred Learning (SCL) activities such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Oriented Problem-Based Learning (POPBL). In semester III, third year students will undergo industrial trainings for ten (10) weeks. To fulfill the requirement for the award of Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours, students are required to carry out final year projects (FYPs), which will normally be executed during the last two (2) semesters.
The graduates of the programme are expected to be competent in the field of electronic engineering to fulfill the needs of industry at the national and international level. They are also able to adapt generic skills holistically as professional engineer practices. On top of that the graduates will be able perform the work ethically and faithfully to global society continuously.
As for career prospects, electronic engineering field suits most of the sectors in Malaysia and abroad. People with Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours can end up being one of the following:
