This programme offers academic study in the field of electrical engineering which covers topics such as electrical machines and drives, electrical energy consumption, high voltage engineering, power quality analysis, electric power – generation, transmission and distribution and electrical system design. The normal duration of the programme is 8 semesters or 4 years where the student has to complete 135 credit hours for graduation.
The structure of the programme contains core electrical engineering courses, electives courses, and laboratories (experiments and engineering practice) sessions. Aside from that, students are required to involve in Student-Centred Learning (SCL) activities such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Oriented Problem-Based Learning (POPBL). In semester III, third-year students will undergo industrial training for ten (10) weeks. To fulfill the requirement for the award of Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with Honours, students are required to carry out final year projects (FYPs), which will normally be executed during the last two (2) semesters.
The graduates of the programme are expected to be competent in the field of electrical engineering to fulfill the needs of industry at the national and international level. They are also able to adapt generic skills holistically as professional engineer practices. On top of that, the graduates will be able to perform the work ethically and faithfully to global society continuously.
