Dr. Audrey won RM3000 as the champion in pitching competition – 07 March 2019 (Thursday)

We are proud with the recent achievement of our faculty member, Dr. Audrey Huong Kah Ching who emerged as the champion in Road2Growth Southern Region Pitching Competition (R2G2019) held at Impiana Hotel, Senai on 12th March 2019.

She was up against representatives from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Johor and Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR Johor) and pitched about the business model for her recent skin health invention named FACIOZ. The product is able to produce spatial-information of oxygen level in our skin in a fast, painless and non-invasive way. This sensor is useful to those suffering from skin problems such as acnes, eczema and psoriasis as the users are able to monitor changes in their skin health following the treatment prescribed by medical professionals. This is to ensure proper treatment being given and to promote optimum wound healing.

The R2G2019 is one of initiatives from the Malaysia Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), which is the key player in technology commercialisation and promotion of technologies adoption by local companies in Malaysia. It is targeted to entrepreneurs and researchers from local institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) and SMEs from southern region to gain information on the available funding and identification of innovations and projects that are ready for commercialisation. Winners from the regional MTDC R2G2019 will be further groomed by MTDC Technopreneur Training Academy (TENTRA) and are eligible to enter the Grant Finale of the pitching competition, which will be held in October 2019. The grand prize winner of each category will receive RM15,000 worth of product development grant. Congratulations Dr. Audrey!
